Tracker & Cookie Leak Benchmark: 200 French E-Commerce Brands Audited
Using passive network interception (Playwright Double-Tap under headless Chromium), CookieDetox measured the actual network behavior of 200 major French retail brands. Findings expose a massive gap between visual consent banners and live HTTP requests fired to Meta, TikTok, Criteo, and Google.
Methodological Rigor & Evidentiary Standard: Out of 200 targeted commercial domains, 137 are fully observable in an automated headless testing sandbox. 39 stores actively block inspection crawlers via Cloudflare, DataDome, or Akamai web application firewalls (WAF), and 24 feature deferred dynamic rendering. Under our epistemic charter, unverified sites are marked inconclusive rather than penalized.
